Metropolitan & City Police Orphans Fund
Formerly the metropolitan & City Police Orphanage

The Phillip Cronin Memorial Award is an annual presentation agreed by our Board of Management in memory of Phillip who was our Chief Executive for 15 years who sadly died in 2014. It is awarded to one of our Orphans who the Management Board consider to have demonstrated outstanding achievement or endeavour.
This year is the inaugural presentation and having considered several cases, the recipient chosen was Elizabeth WARD who had lost both her parents when she was young and consequently brought up by her Grandparents. She was able to attend a Christmas luncheon organised by the Fund which was kindly sponsored by D J Talbot & Associates Ltd. She was accompanied by her sister and Grandfather but sadly her Grandmother had died recently.
She was presented with a cheque and the award by Lord Blair (a past President of the Orphans Fund) and our Chairman Neil Basu. Also present at the lunch was Phillip’s niece Michelle who said “Phillip would be very proud of this annual award in his name particularly as it is for the benefit of the Orphans which he battled for, not only whilst Chief Executive but throughout his life.”
If you were an orphan or a relate who has benefited either directly or indirectly we would love to hear your story. We would like to publish stories highlighting the achievements of the Charity and its beneficiaries over the years.
